After successfully bringing Grammy award-winning reggae group, Morgan Heritage,  to perform in Zimbabwe for the first time, music promotion company  2Kings Entertainment has promised another memorable experience as they gear up to bring Tanzanian superstar, Diamond Platnumz, for his debut performance in the country at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on October 28.

“People should look out for another classical event from 2Kings Entertainment when we host Diamond Platnumz this October,” said Dee Nosh of 2Kings Entertainment.

“We decided to bring Diamond because we realized that his collaboration with Jah Prayzah on the track ‘Watora Mari’ was a hit and we feel Diamond has become the talk of Zimbabwe.”

Earlier in the year 2Kings had been involved in other big gigs such as the epic Chris Martin show and the Mafikizolo concert. These aforementioned gigs were both held in stadiums but now the promotions company has switched from this approach to strictly indoor events.

One factor that made the Morgan Heritage show memorable was that there were very few opening acts involved, allowing revelers to get to see the headline act whilst they were still fresh.

On why they chose to do this Dee Nosh said, “After the Mafikizolo Concert we realized that the fewer the opening acts the better. We tried this at the Morgan Heritage concert and we realised it worked very well.  We will also be applying the same concept for the Diamond gig where we only have four opening acts namely Judgement Yard, Jah Prayzah, Stunner and Trevor Dongo.”

Speaking on what they are doing to take local acts to other parts of the world as opposed to just bringing foreign artists to perform in the country Dee Nosh said, “We have planned to do Morgan Heritage Shows in Zambia, Ghana and also lined up some gigs for Jah Prayzah in South Africa.

“So at all these shows we will be taking our local artists to go and perform there, hence exposing them to other markets.”
