Many know her for her contagious energy when she is presenting shows on ZiFM Stereo. Others are mesmerised by her sweet smile when she is doing her thing on ZTV’s Coca Cola on the Beat. Then they are some who get dizzy when dazzled by her amazingly woven body – a true African queen.

But, they are some who know the other side of Misred that has nothing to do with her work in mainstream media. They know her for her sacrifices as she gives them the best of what she has through her philanthropic works.

From sanitary wear to cash amongst many other things, Misred has steadily developed a philanthropic element within her personality and each year the impact of her work keeps growing.

Now this Saturday May 19 at Motswako in Glen Norah Misred will be throwing her birthday bash and all proceeds will go to charity.

Zimbo Jam spoke to the ‘heavy machine’ and she revealed her love for giving and more.

“Misred is a brand birthed by a woman, mother, sister , daughter, granddaughter who is Samantha Musa. As an African I have been taught that I am my sisters keeper,” she said.

“I may not put it all out in the public because it’s genuinely me doing it because of my love for people but giving into the community is close to my heart. More than anything, issues to do with young girls as well as sexual reproductive health are a big space of interest for me.”

Usually whdn people of Misreds calibre party they do it at a plush joint in the leafy suburbs but she chose to come to the ghetto.
She explains why: “We are in a new and exciting dispensation as Zimbabwe and I am also very passionate about tourism. The people of Zimbabwe are warm at heart and colorful, it comes out when they party.

“Township Tourism is one of the low hanging fruits that need to be taken advantage of and Motswako is an exciting space that is rich in everything you would want from a buzzing high density neighborhood. So we just want to celebrate differently, we want to dance and get people to experience the Motswako vibe.”

Unlike other ladies who wanna hide their age Samantha boldly revealed she had turned 29 on May 8 and also shred a critical lesson she has learnt over the years.

“The key lesson I have learnt is that no man is an island. We are part of an ecosystem and we all have our part to play towards the grand scheme of things

“A woman never reveals her age lol. But I’m comfortable with my age, now 29 blessed years. Legacy is such an important thing for me.

“This new year brings in a lot more insight to whom I am as an individual, clarity on my future prospects but it’s all leading to my big dream to become a major player in the business of entertainment where Africa is concerned. Always excited about growth, more excited about developing,” she revealed.
