Operation Restore Legacy which was initiated in November last year and ended early 2018 seems not to have only shaken things on the political front but also in the film sector.

Suddenly filmmakers are more daring and are going all out to produce some fresh exciting productions.

One such is the upcoming movie, Tete B produced by the newly formed film production company, Gango Productions.

The movie is set to premiere early May.

The production is about four friends (played by Eddie Sandifolo, Munya Chidzonga, Charles Njagu and Doc Vikela), who are spiralled into a test of their friendship after a mysterious text message from a character named Tete B.

Zimbo Jam got to speak to some of the cast members and they revealed how the experience was like in making the movie.

“I play the role of Mbada. The crazy almost psychopathic police detective who loves to solve everything with violence,” said Charles Njagu.

“When I read the script under our Gango model , I was expecting either Eddie Sandifolo or Munya Chidzonga to take up that role as it was a big challenge. I was super surprised when Sandifolo suggested to Joe that he tries me for the role.

“I was hesitant at first until I just decided to take it on. Its pure method acting, embodying the Mbada character. You cant teach anyone to act, but you can be taught the technique only,” he added.

Njagu also said that working with the talented cast and crew made his job easier.

“I was working with super talented guys, Nyarie Nhongonhema is just amazing, I have known Nyarie for a while and that helped in our synergy on screen as we already knew each other. “So it became a good ping pong in acting. We rehearsed a lot and working   with Joe who becomes this beast and not my brother anymore when onset. He was there to guide and direct me into bringing the best out of Mbada.”

Award-winning comedian, Doc Vikela says he almost quit in the early stages.

“It was a great joy to be part of Tete B. Though in the early stages I almost quit the movie because it was quite exhaustive and demanding,” said the NAMA winner.

“In the film I play Mukanya, a famous celebrity and best friend to the lead actor with tinted hair. I want to venture more in film. I want more and more.”

Renowned theatre actor, Nyarie Nhongonhema says she found film intimidating.

“This is my first movie ever. I have done music videos before but that was it. All my life I have been acting on the big stage,” said Nyarie.

“I found the camera very intimidating. I am used to a live audience in theatre and making a lot of facial expressions on the big stage but now the dynamics had changed. I found myself losing the plot on several occasions but I eventually got the gist of the matter.

“Am still sceptical about how I performed on my debut movie but am sure that with the support I had from the Gango crew, all came out well,” she added.
