Tawanda Chingarah, spokesperson for Hardcore World Enterainment, has hinted many times at this surprise guest and many Zahara fans we have spoken to hope it is Zimbabwean DJ, George Munetsi, who featured on her hit track Incwad’ Encane.
The former Radio 3 (Now Power FM) DJ is now with South Africa’s Kaya FM. He achieved overnight fame in Zimbabwe for his Zahara duet. Yep, more fame with that one song than all his years of DJaying have done for him.
Chingarah assured fans that everything was in place for the artist’s two Zimbabwe shows, Harare on August 10 and Bulawayo on August 11.
He said that security was a major focus of the shows. “We want to create a family environment,” he said, “We want people to bring their wives to the show and have no worries.”
Zahara lands at the Harare International Airport at 2000hrs on Thursday August 9, 2012 aboard a South African Airways flight along with a ten piece band, a road manager and her ‘surprise guest’.
A new development Chingarah said, was that all the backing artists would perform with live bands.
Ticket sales start on Monday. In Bulawayo this will be at Greens Supermarket and Watering Hole. In Harare it will be at Fusion, Endaweni Restaurant (Belgravia), Rainbow Towers, Alcatraz Fashions Angwa City, Alcatraz Fashions Ximex Mall, Homegate and Café Nush.
D-Nosh and L-Roy have been enlisted as the DJs for the show to keep fans dancing during artist changeovers and late into the night well after the performances.
The Zahara show is being organised by Hardcore World Entertainment with the support of Delta Beverages, The Standard, Endaweni Restaurant Premier Auto Sales and Zimbo Jam.
