This year’s edition will be held at Hideaway Campsite in Norton from December 10-14 under the theme, ‘My African Marimba Dream’.

“The second edition of the Dreams Marimba Camp will run  for five days with 80 students ranging from grade five to lower six, all marimba players. Registration is open till the 30th of October and camp fee is $150 which includes transport, food, accommodation, camp activity and camp T-shirt,” said Bled.

He also highlighted that this year they intend to engage with people from less privileged backgrounds.

“The trust has a passion to work with the talented student in the high density areas of Harare so our action plan is to hold scouting programmes in areas such as Glen view, Glen Norah, Chitungwiza, Budiriro and Epworth and scout for possible candidates to be part of 2017 camp.

“The camp will have several workshops from guest facilitators, special visits by remarkable musicians and icons, team building activities, sports, and will finally be closed with three  special concerts – these are; Norton Community Concert, Local Children’s Home Christmas Party Concert and Parents and Public Final Concert,” he highlighted.

Bled added that this year’s theme is taken from the trust’s dream that one day marimba will become an important instrument, popular and easily accessed by every child, school and institution.
