{dropcap}H{/dropcap}arare’s Book Café was officially reopened at its new premises, 139 Samora Machel Avenue, on March 8, 2012 at an event attended by about 300 guests who consisted mainly of artists, members of the diplomatic corps and arts administrators. Guest of Honour was the Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai. At the same event the Book Café received its Prince Claus award for providing space for free artistic expression. 

The award was presented by Prince Claus Fund Director, Christa Meindersma, and Ambassador of the Netherlands, H.E. Barabara Joziasse.

The celebration- meant initially to end at 9pm – went on well into the night as the spirit of the Book Café came back.
