Capetonians and South African music lovers at large are in for a treat this June as they get to celebrate Father`s Day and Youth Day Weekend being serenaded by the grandad of Zimbabwean music Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi.

“We are honoured to be hosting Tuku by popular demand for a once-off Concert at the Artscape Opera House Cape Town on Friday 15 June 2018,” said show organisers, Xtratime Entertainment.

Having successfully performed to a sold out audience on 18 November 2017, Cape Town Just can`t have enough of Tuku music and to spice things more, Tuku will this time travel with some trending budding acts.

“Talent deserves continuous Limelight, that`s the best way we can celebrate Tuku, Probeats, Sylent Nqo and Bryan K,” exclaimed Xtratime Entertainment frontman, Tongai Mbidzo.

Mbidzo stated that the concert has three main aims.

He revealed: “We aim to bring quality Zimbabwean entertainment to Cape Town residents thereby playing a part in community/ society interaction through arts and culture.

“Secondly we want to create a platform for Zimbabweans living in South Africa to socialise and exchange positive ideas and inspire positive social messages and behaviours through Oliver Mtukudzi`s songs and music.

“Lastly we want to celebrate Tuku’s 67th album to the Zimbabwean community living in South Africa and Tuku fan base from other countries residing in South Africa.”

Bryan K who will be performing with Tuku at the gig said he is honoured to be a part of this gig.

“It will be my first time perfroming in Cape Town so I’m going to give them my best,” said Bryan.”I’m traveling with my producer/ keys player, Cornie 3D Muponda. So it’s gonna be a chilled intimate set,” he added.

On how he feels to be suddenly performing outside Zimbabwe, bearing in mind he staged his debut performance in Zambia earlier this year, he said, “It feels great to know that people out there actually appreciate the music and I’m so excited and looking forward to the lessons that I’m gonna learn from this trip.”
