“In the beginning this almost didn’t happen. I remembered going to Cape Town not even knowing where we were staying. I posted online that when we arrive my wife and I would literally be stranded.

“We had friends mobilise so many accommodation options I remembered having a number of people arriving to pick us up from the airport.

“We even managed to get an accommodation partner for future South African shows, a company called Once in Cape Town which is an awesome backpackers. We even got a chance to unwind in one of the most beautiful areas in Cape Town thanks to a great friend and motivational force, Petra.

“I started to believe we could really achieve this record when we did the comedy performances in Harare on day four where I had nine shows on the same day and I was still standing at the end.

Quizzed on whether he thought he would fail to achieve his goal he said, “My team really never allowed me to think like that. We were so positive throughout the project.”

He also revealed that his most memorable shows were in Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.

“Bulawayo and Victoria Falls were memorable for me because of how much people really turned out for the shows.

“Most shows in these two cities were packed and yet I put more emphasis on Harare shows in my planning. I am grateful though to all the people who came out to the shows.”

On how they managed to fund their campaign which saw the comedian travelling the length and breadth of the country as well as some regional shows he said, “We did not have any cash sponsors but we had many people that came through for us with their products and services, the venues, companies like Cresta Hotels, Africa Albida, Zambezi Traveller, My Vic falls Home, TATU Large Format Printing, My Guy in Zim, Predestined Pictures, Loud 5 Studios, Solution Centre, Eskill (Canon Zimbabwe), Livecast, Tracey Mason Media.”

On what the future holds he said, “After this world record process I doubt anyone can ever convince me that anything cannot be done.

“This project isn’t over by a long shot even though I have some major tours happening at the moment. I intend on being a solution provider to many Zimbabweans who need examples that anything is possible.”
