The National Gallery of Zimbabwe will this year launch a programme to reach out to less privileged children from various homes in and around Harare.
Over 40 artists will exhibit at the fourth installment of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe’s Green Shoots End of Year Exhibition which starts in Harare today, December 7, 2016.
The National Gallery’s artwork of the week is ‘Hear No Evil’ by Mercy Moyo. The painting depicts “a group of women who seem to be gossiping about a woman who is standing alone and looking very sad.”
It was a hive of activity in the capital city this week as students from Chinhoyi University of Technology studying for a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Creative Art and Design staged some amazing exhibitions in the CBD and surrounding areas.
The National Gallery’s artwork of the week is ‘Demolition’ by Joan Evans. The abstract painting portrays “a once flourishing place that has been completely destroyed with torn down buildings and structures.”
