Young Artists Draw a Crowd at Gallery Delta

The Gallery Delta hosted the 7th annual ‘Artists in the Stream‘ exhibition on February 9, 2016 in partnership with the European Union and Culture Fund. The work of 45 artists was exhibited in various categories including painting, graphics and mixed media sculptures and objects. The pieces broadly focused on the human condition. 

Migration and Displacement at the National Gallery

The National Art Gallery was abuzz with diplomats, government officials, art lovers and of course those who just come for the food and wine. Together this group was given the opportunity to explore the phenomena of migration and mobility through a variety of media at the official opening of the exhibition entitled Kabbo ka Muwala.

The Sermon at The Annual Art Exhibition

Through visual art, many messages are communicated and this time around, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe (NGZ) opened an exhibition themed ‘Mharidzo’. This exhibition features paintings, video art and sculptures and is a “sermon preached through art.”

Re-Imagining Africa at a UZ TEDx

The University of Zimbabwe on Friday 13, 2015 successfully held a Technology Education Development Talk (TEDx). The X  means that it was an independently organised event. It was hosted Saki Mafundikwa, a Zimbabwean author and founder of the Zimbabwe Institute of Vigital Arts and Munashe Rupazo a female poet.

Diaspora Art Diaries: Lucia Nhamo

Zimbo artists are doing us proud at home and around the world. The first in the Diaspora Art Diaries series is work by recently returned multimedia artist, Lucia Nhamo, who recently graduated with a Master in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University. Nhamo's work was selected for exhibit at Bamako Encounters, the 10th edition of the African Biennale of Photography and Video. The theme of this year's Biennale is "Telling Time" and the exhibit is at the National Museum of Mali in Bamako until December 31, 2015.
