Ndlovu, 36, turned up without his lawyer to a court hearing on Monday last week, hoping to delay the release of DNA test results. But the Randburg Maintenance Court read through his tactics. The Thanda Royal Zulu striker was handed an original copy of the results, which were also read out to him. The magistrate ordered the striker to return to court next month with his lawyer for a hearing on the maintenance figures. Sharon Dee, real name Hlengiwe Dlamini, raged after the court hearing: “You can’t be married to someone for more than 10 years and come back to say the kids are not yours.” The former Coventry City, Sheffield United and Mamelodi Sundowns striker could now be forced to shell out up to R36,000 (£2,690) in maintenance every month for both children and R10,000 (£748) for their mother. Sharon Dee told a South African newspaper on Sunday that Ndlovu had been a “good father”, yet she knew after their divorce he would try and deny his own kids. “I know he planned that (denying his children) and I can tell you it’s very stupid on his side. For him to dispute his kids’ paternity in public is very stupid and low,” she told the Sunday World. She added: “Personally, I wasn’t insulted because I’d prepared myself for such things since the day I filed for the divorce. I don’t want anything from him except that he must support his kids. “I can’t chase him like all these [other] women who are chasing after him because I don’t want him any more.” Ndlovu earned millions of pounds after joining Coventry City, then in the English Premier League, from Highlanders in 1991. Over the next decade, he played for several teams including Huddersfield, Birmingham City and Sheffield United before a move to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in 2001 where he reportedly earned US$500,000 over two years. His current team, Thanda Royal Zulu, were relegated from the South African Premier League after losing in the play-offs early this month. - By Nkanyiso Moyo, NewZimbabwe.com Share this page...
