CHIPAWO will be celebrating its annual end of year concert at the Dutch Reformed Church on July 25,2015.
This will be the first concert which is going to be the children’s concert. The concert will bring together various pre-schools, including those not affiliated with CHIPAWO, to showcase and celebrate this day. The second concert will be at the Zimbabwe College of Music on August 1, 2015.
The event is set to bring together children from various CHIPAWO centres such as Chitungwiza, Norton, Bindura, Harare, Bulawayo and Domboshava.
“The event will be filled with showcases of what CHIPAWO has been doing the whole year through children and they will also be celebrating the year,” said CHIPAWO manager, Chipo Basopo.
This year’s theme is ‘Celebrating 25 years of arts education for children and young people’.
Apart from the children from CHIPAWO, there will be a number of guest groups who will showcase on the day as a way of promoting children and youth creativity and performance exposure. Apart from the performances both concerts will have an award presentation ceremony to honour children and a centre that did well during the CHIPAWO year.
“Entry is for free and members of the public who are interested in Children and the Arts. They are most welcome to come and join us on this day,” added Basopo.
