Chiwoniso kisses Sebede at the end of her showWe have gone through a lot of hardships as a fanbase, audience and consumers of art for the past decade. In the process we have developed higher levels of understanding and tolerance towards the efforts that our artists make. This however should not be taken for granted. The worst feeling I can have about an artist is that of disappointment after having endured the last 5 years with faith. I got that feeling during Chiwoniso's show held in Harare on Friday.

Teenager texts at her computerI remember the day that cellphones were banned at our school.  People cried.  Threats were uttered.  People thought of ways to smuggle them in without being detected, and when they were, they thought up every excuse possible to get out of trouble and keep their phones.  Most teachers did not understand why we students were so attached to our cellphones.

Inside a Radio Dialogue studio- BulawayoOn Friday, the 23rd of October 2009, eight community radio initiatives in Zimbabwe will meet at a conference in Harare which will be held under the theme “Building and strengthening community radios for sustainable development.” The conference is aimed at coming up with strategies to solidify the campaigns and agitations for licensing of community radio stations. The conference will be followed by the Zimbabwe Association of Community Radios (ZACRAS) Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 24th of October 2009.
