Films and Songs That Grew Us Up

The A Team. Dukes of Hazzard. MacGyver. Six Million Dollar Man. Bionic Woman. The Big Valley. Highway to Heaven. Knight Rider. Little House on the Prairie. Flipper. Amen. 227. Saved by the Bell. We grew up on a rather American diet of entertainment served up every evening by ZBC. The Zimbo Jam takes a nostalgic look at the films, cartoons and songs that grew us up.

You are sure to be nostalgically tickled….

1980s-1990s: Films that grew us up
In addition to the ones mentioned above there was Saved by the Bell, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, Head of the Class, Skippy, Flipper, Sanford and Son, Green Acres, CHiPs and so many others.

1980s-1990s: Cartoons that grew us up
Voltron anyone? How about He Man, She-Ra, Rainbow, Danger Mouse, Inspector Gadget, Popeye, The Smurfs, Button Moon, Scooby Doo, Roger Ramjet, Fraggle Rock, Muppet Babies, Chipmunks, Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

1980s: Songs that grew us up
(This does not include Zim songs which will be part of a separate list)
As we were compiling this list, Michael Jackson passed away. Needless to say that a lot of his music grew us up as well. Along with that was Like a Prayer (Madonna), Every Breath You Take (The Police), We Are the World (USA for Africa), With of Without You (U2), What’s Love Got to Do With It (Tina Turner), Faith (George Michael), Endless Love (Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie) and hundreds more…

And oh yes, we’d like to introduce you to our new YouTube Channel. Yay! Check it out for the fuller lists of films, songs and cartoons that grew us up. If there are some golden oldies that we have left out, please do suggest them in the comments section below...
