Page 1 of 4 The 8th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) held at the Rainbow Towers International Conference Centre (formerly Harare International Conference Centre) on Friday evening (13 Feb 2009) delivered not only awards to some of Zimbabwe's leading arts practitioners but also a line up of top class acts that kept the two thousand strong crowd on their feet for most of the night. The opening was a collage of dances that told the story of a bored king who wanted to be entertained, so he had different dancers come and perform for him. ^ There came traditional dancers, leaping with joy, vitality and youth. He wasn't entertained. ^ There came graceful ballroom dancers, twirling and twisting for his pleasure, but that didn't entertain him either.
