Last week Friday, ‘The Sun Will Rise Again’ was staged at Theatre in the Park. Dalma Chiwereva, who played three roles, was just flawless in her performance.

She played her characters well with consistency and commitment making it easy for the audience to grasp the many messages hidden in the Raisedon Baya adaptation.

The way she expressed herself and used her face by opening her eyes really wide was an invitation to the audience to look through her.

Her acting brought to mind a statement by the RAS Theatre group, “An actors eyes are exciting in theatre because they are forward looking; they look into the future, not the past. When we see an actor’s eyes we see not only what he or she is looking at, but what his or her goals/intention(s) might be. We see characters continually trying to scope each other out – and hence we get involved with their involvements.”

Below are some scenes from the play.
