Jah Prayzah’s new compilation, ‘Kutonga Kwaro,’ will be launched at the Harare International Conference Centre .

Fans were eagerly anticipating Jah’s performance with Davido. Their duet, ‘My Lily,’ released in July, has 2 about million views on YouTube.

South African band, Mafikizolo, who also did a recent collaboration with Jah Prayzah, ‘Sendekera,’ and who were also set to perform at the launch will not be coming either.

2 Kings did not give a reason for Davido’s cancellation.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control Davido won’t be at Jah Prayzah’s historic album launch, Friday. Superstar Dr Oliver “Taku” Mtukudzi and dancehall Igwe Winky D will now provide cover. If u had bought a $20 ordinary ticket u can now bring a Plus One or get coupons worth $10 for drinks or snacks, meaning a regular ticket is now $10. If u had bought a ticket just for Davido, hold on to your ticket, a compensatory gig featuring the Nigerian star is being organized for later. The rest remains the same,” said the statement from the promoters.

Jah Prayzah also released a statement confirming the cancellation. “We are disappointed to announce to you masoja that Davido will no longer be performing at the Kutonga Kwaro Album Launch tomorrow as promised due to reasons and circumstances beyond our control. Davido and his team have assured us and Zimbabweans at large that he will issue an official statement as soon as possible and also announce a new date for a ‘My Lilly’ concert.”
