BOFOZ promised a car and they delivered a car. Yes, they mean business.

We met with the Black Opal Face of Zimbabwe (BOFOZ) winner, 29-year-old Lovejoy Chivanga. She is still as excited as she was on Saturday, perhaps even more so as the organisers have officially handed over the prize car.

“I was excited–I am still excited. It was unexpected because I just figured what are the chances of winning. I have been entering other competitions but I have never won,” said Chivanga.

Many may be wondering if she is related to BOFOZ 2016 Second Princess, Robin Chivanga. If “yes” was your guess then you are absolutely right; they actually are sisters.

Some may be pondering on the coincidence and how exactly she won the car? Well, before you even ask that first ask yourself this: did you vote for any of the contestants? Now that you have answered that question, this is what the winner of the Toyata IST, Lovejoy Chivanga had to say:

“I was not expecting to win. It was my first time actually to vote because my sister was also a contestant and I, together with my family and friends voted many times. We all wanted my little sister to win”, expressed Chivanga.

Opinions may vary but as far as the Chivangas are concerned, they believe luck was their guest that night.

Meanwhile, BOFOZ coordinator, Tanaka Ngororo took the opportunity to thank everyone who took part in the event, from start to finish. He also acknowledged that there are things that he wishes were done differently and he promised a bigger and even better event come next year.

“I would just like to thank everyone, the stakeholders, customers, staff members, supporters and haters. We have come a long way and we are going even further,” said Ngorora.

“We have learnt a lot of lessons. In our company we believe in continuous improvement,” he concluded.
