Preparations for Zimbabwe’s inaugural fashion week are underway with Director and founder, supermodel Priscilla Chigariro selecting the core team that will put the fashion extravaganza together.
The Zimbo Jam last week met the three of the team members, Events Coordinator Bertha Ndlovu, Creative Director Ilona Velez and Priscilla herself. The fourth member of the team is Nompumelelo Moyo who will handle public relations while Christina Chantelle Viljoen will work with those who want to volunteer to make the event happen.

Priscilla revealed that she was excited about the event and that things were falling into place.
There was disappointment in the industry when the Harare launch scheduled for the beginning of the year was postponed. Priscilla wrote about this on the Zimbabwe Fashion Week blog in December: “I feel like a child who has been disappointed at christmas… Postponing the Harare Media Launch was heart breaking.”
She has assured us though, that this does not have a bearing to the continuation of plans for the fashion week.
“It’s going to happen,” she said with a sizzling confidence which reminded us why she is the successful model that she is.
