Recently crowned Miss Teen Zimbabwe, nineteen-year old Nadine Hahn, says that she is ready to take on the other girls at Miss Teen World when she leaves for the United States in three weeks time.

Zim Gossip Models, one of the most active modelling agencies in Zimbabwe today, has released the names of the twenty-four stunning girls who will take part in the second edition of the Model Extravaganza Pageant to be held later on this year.

Here they are, the girls who will take part in Miss Teen Zimbabwe to be held at Seasons restaurant in Highlands Harare this weekend, on June 26.

The pageant director for Miss Teen Zimbabwe, Sandra Chawabvunza, has come out strongly, defending the decisions made at Miss Teen Harare last month. “There was an honest mix-up by the judges,” she told the Zimbo Jam in a recent interview, "but there was no shady business whatsoever."

Eighteen-year old Nothabo Simela has been crowned Miss Teen Bulawayo. She and her two princesses become the latest three adolescent beauties to qualify for the Miss Teen Zimbabwe finals to be held this month.

A PSI representative told models gathered for an HIV/AIDS awareness workshop on Saturday that of the methods of avoiding STIs that are commonly advocated, abstinence has been the least practiced in Zimbabwe. He urged the models to abstain however, failing which, to resort to other methods of prevention.

Over 100 hopefuls for this year’s Model Extravaganza Beauty Pageant will attend an HIV/AIDS awareness workshop in Harare this weekend. The training is meant to assist the girls, who are prime targets for suitors, to protect themselves.

Eighteen year-old Liezelle Jenkins was crowned Miss Teen Zim Harare at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare last night. Liezelle beat sixteen other contestants, including MNET Face of Africa finalist, Rosanna Hall, and came a step closer to travelling to the USA and representing Zimbabwe at Miss Teen World.

With the first prize of a car, US$1 000 and a trip to the USA, the Miss Teen Zimbabwe pageant is the richest ramp beauty contest for teenagers that has ever been held in the country. The Harare finals for the event take place tomorrow (21 May) at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare.
