From Zulu dancers on stage at the final pageant to video clips of the contestants for Miss World playing with lion cubs to photos of them feeding Zebras, South Africa made sure to use the 2009 Miss World Pageant to show the world its beauty ahead of next year’s Soccer World Cup to be held in the country.

But even before the main pageant on Saturday 12 December, South Africa took the world’s beauties who had come to the country for the month long Miss World camp- and the media following them around- on a tour of some of the country’s most beautiful spots.
^ Images that will get the world's attention. Miss World contestants have fun feeding the animals. Their schedule included events in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. The models went on Safari, visited game reserves, lounged around on beautiful beaches and stayed at some of the best resorts the country had to offer.
^ Miss World Beach Beauty, Kwazulu-Natal, Durban. Zimbabwe missed out when a visit to the Victoria Falls by the 112 contestants, which would have included a charity ball at a hotel in the famous resort town, was cancelled. The trip, scheduled for November 30th, was removed from the girls’ itinerary due to “time constraints.”
