The 2010 edition of the Zimbabwe International Film Festival starts today (Friday August 27) and runs up to September 5, under the theme ZIFF in Retrospective. The opening night ceremony will be held on August 28, at the 7 Arts Cinema. An Indonesian film, The Dreamer, will be officially open this year’s festival. Lukman Sabi, the main actor in the flick, and Rizi Reza, the Director, will attend the festival, courtesy of the Indonesian Embassy.

The Zimbabwe Festival of African Inspired Animation (ZIMFAIA) 2010, which runs from July 30 - 31, will include a special focus on African animation dubbed, the African Animation Panorama. On this list is the iconic film, National Defence, Africa’s oldest known animated film, released in 1939.
