The 2009 International Images Film Festival for Women kicks off tonight with an opening ceremony at the 7 Arts Theatre (20 November 2009). Themed Transforming Women, the festival will run until November 28th at Elite 100 in Avondale and Rainbow Cinemas in the Harare CBD. Filmmakers and critiques from the UK, Spain, Poland, Zambia and the USA will attend the festival and exchange notes in discussions with Zimbabwean filmmakers. They will also form part of this year’s jury for the thirteen 35mm films that will be presented at this year’s festival. The International Film Festival for Women is an annual event run by Women Filmakers of Zimbabwe.
