Boothby Graffoe, one of the UK's top comedians, will be in Zimbabwe for two show at the 7 Arts on 4th and 5th December. He has had several series of his own radio show in the the UK and has appeared on numerous TV shows including Have I Got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The King Of Comedy.
He often incorporates guitar playing into his stage act, through his oddball (and usually slightly twisted) songs, including such titles as Planet Dog, Woof and his album's title track Wot Italian. Some of his song titles are still more surreal in that they do not reflect the subject matter, such as Giraffes Don't Play Harmonicas, So It Can't Be a Giraffe and The Consequences of Living in a Container. He has in the past been accompanied by the violinist Nick Pynn and has also toured with acclaimed acoustic guitarist Antonio Forccione. Yes, that’s the same Antonio who has impressed audiences at HIFA so many times.
He also both tours live and writes extensively on television for Omid Djalili, star of TV's The Omid Djalili show in the UK as well as frequently touring with the Canadian band The Barenaked Ladies. He is a regular performer at the annual Edinburgh Festival Fringe and has built up a huge following there over the years.
The Adelaide Fringe Award For Excellence 2002, Edinburgh Festival Perrier Award nominations and a Time Out London Comedy Award all bear testimony to what a brilliant musician and comedian he is and whom The Guardian in the UK described "as the funniest in the land" and The Times describes as "a genius".
