If Munya knew all this he would probably not have saved Ricco and would have let Tawana stay in the house. But he didn’t- and that may have been the one major booboo that cost him the US$100,000.00 prize which went to Angolan Ricco last night.
No nonsense girl. Hazel’s mother, Miss Rabia Hansrod said that as her daughter had not taken part in any hanky panky bedroom stuff in the house she deserved to win. “No touching, touching,” she commented and burst into laughter. She also noted that Hazel was a “decent and hard working girl.” On the very last night in the house, Ricco had jumped into Hazel’s bed wanting to get under the covers but she had told him to get out. Ricco tried his charm on her but to no avail. In the end he left in a huff and went to commiserate with Munya.
Culture ambassador? Munya with Tawana Second to be interviewed was Munya’s father, Mr Edwin Chidzonga, who said that Munya had represented Africa well during his short stint in the Big Brother House in Finland. “He has represented true African culture.” Mr Chidzonga was also of the opnion that Munya had been “authentic” for the duration of the show. Well, authentic or not, Munya became the 10th housemate to leave the house. Leaving Hazel and Ricco behind, he bounced out of the house into the bright glare of lights, loud screams of the crowd present and harsh face of reality. “I was so close all I had to do was sit in the house for a few more minutes,” he said to KB who welcomed him back to the real world. Asked who he thought would win, Munya said he thought it would be Ricco. Ricco’s sister Zelma, said that her brother was “real” and entertaining. “Ricco for the money!” she hollered.
Gimme my dosh! Ricco gets his money. She was right. Ricco, who jumped up and down, screaming ecstatically, upon the announcement that he had won, did get the money- BUT it wasn’t that simple. Both Ricco and Hazel had equal votes creating the first ever tie in the history of Big Brother Africa. In the end, the auditors, Alexander Forbes, needed to look at the total percentage of votes that were received across all countries- rather than the number of countries won for each person. Ricco was the housemate with the highest total percentage of votes and so the stash was his. Upon exiting the house Ricco was welcomed by thunderous applause. Visibly thrilled, he was met on stage by KB and the other housemates, before he dashed over to collect his money from the menacing looking bouncers.

Perhaps Munya didn’t know what we knew when he saved Ricco from possible eviction two weeks ago. We knew about the amazing popularity that Ricco had on the Big Brother Forums and on other discussion boards on the web. We knew how much people thought Ricco was so cool. AND- we knew, after his
In a final hour of tense hope, relatives of the three top finalists were interviewed by KB and asked why they felt their kin representative should win the prize.
