Award-winning gospel musician, Janet Manyowa will drop her third studio album, ‘Grateful’, on Saturday, October 13 at the Celebration Centre.

The launch will feature hotshots from the region who include the likes of Dr Tumi, Ntokozo Mbambo and Nqubeko Mbatha as well as Canada based Mai Shingisai Suluma.

But before the album drops here are a few facts you probably did not know about it and the concept of the launch.

1. There are 11 tracks on the album…

There are 11 tracks on the album all produced by Andrew Baird of Orangotang Music. “Andrew is an amazingly talented and very experienced producer. Over and above that, he understands Janet’s style and voice very well,” said Janet Manyowa’s manager, Munyaradzi Manyowa.

2. The album was named Grateful because…

“…I believe there is so much to be grateful to God for, if not for anything, the gift of life. “Personally, I have witnessed His mighty and outstretched arm at work in my life hence we worship Him with grateful hearts and lifted hands,” said Janet.

3. We have so many big acts coming on board because….

“…firstly, it gives an opportunity to learn from the seasoned acts. Secondly, it’s about creating value and diversity for our fans and gospel music lovers.

“There are not too many gospel concerts on the music calendar, so this is more than an album launch, it’s catering for everybody who enjoys gospel music.”

4. The launch event may be the first edition of what will be an annual concert…

We are mulling the idea of making this an annual concert on the Christian events calendar. We are currently working on a theme for such events. Do watch the space,” highlighted Janet’s manager.

5. There will be an official video dropping in the next two weeks…

…coupled with the videos from the live DVD recording happening on the day of the launch.
