Afro-fusion musician, Gary Tight will make his debut performance at the weekly Jam Session tonight.

Dubbed ‘Mafaro Chete’, the Jam Session has become a flagship event of the new look City Sports Bar since it was reopened late last year. “I am really looking forward to my debut show at the Jam Session as I have always missed this weekly musical delight due to my tight schedule,” said Gary.

“I believe this platform plays a critical role in shaping the careers of budding musicians and also becomes an experimental stage for those established to try out their new material.

“I also think the Jam Session is covering the gap created with the closure of the Book Café and Misty’s as both offered the exciting ‘Open Mic Sessions’ which were critical in shaping the careers of many of today’s celebrated artists.

“I want to use this platform to gauge how I am doing in comparison to other musicians.

“The platform is also beneficial to fans who cannot afford to come watch us at some of our venues. This one is absolutely free,” he added.

Gary also opened up on the success of the album ‘Kings’ which he worked on with his father, Willom.

“The album has been warmly accepted and tracks such as ‘Tight Party’ and ‘Toite Basa’ have been doing so well on the market.

“We recently released ‘Tight Tune’ which people are falling in love with too.”
