Zimbo Jam caught up with the animator and got him to tell us about the whole competition and this is what he said, “Google has a project called Africa Connected where they look for innovators using the power of the internet in their countries.

“I submitted work among 2 200 others and have made it to the semi-finals. Google sent filming teams to shoot mini documentary type videos on the 20. I was interviewed in January this year, 2014. The videos will be out in sometime in March.

“My team and I use Google services in our startup NafunaTV, we run a channel as well as use Google for educational work , that’s what seems to have gotten me this far,” revealed the elated film director.

The competition was launched in August 2013, calling entrepreneurs, creative’s, innovators and web-lovers to share their stories of how the web has transformed their lives and work.  The semi-finalists were selected from over 2,200 entries from 35 countries.

“After the top 20 stage, the judges will pick the top people 10 from the list and those 10 are up for public voting. The top five people with the most votes will each win $25 000 each,” added Enqore.
