“About my departure, I think it’s good if you ask Jah Prayzah himself,” Baba Harare told Zimbo Jam, responding to a question bout why he had decided to leave the band and how his former boss felt about it.

He went on to say that he left on his own and did not take any of the New Generation band members with him.

His music will be marketed under the label Baba Harare Music which will be managed by Voyage Dambuza.

“I have been writing my own music and I have worked on one song with my brother Progress Chipfumo,” he said. “I sing about peace, love and happiness, mostly reggae music.”

He went on to say that it has always his been dream to do his own musical project, hence the zeal to create the twelve track album.

His first solo show will be an album launch on January 26, 2017 at Jazz 24/7 in Harare.

Baba Harare said that he is looking up to God concerning his future in the music industry.

Another prominent New Generation band member, Pamela Zulu, aka Gonyeti recently left Jah Prayzah to pursue a solo career after accusing Jah Prayzah of taking sexual liberties with her.

Efforts to get a response from Jah Prayzah or his manager Keen Mushapaidze about this latest development were unfruitful.
