The International Images Film Festival for Women (IIFF) is going to rock Harare from August 26 to September 3 , 2016.

Ster-Kinekor Borrowdale, Mufakose-Rutendo hall, National Gallery of Zimbabwe-penthouse, Alliance Francaise and Stimulus Hub will be the venues for the screenings.

DStv’s Zambezi Magic channel, co-sponsors of this year’s spectacle, are excited to be part of the 15th edition of IIFF.

“We are delighted to be associated with this prestigious event and look forward to a long and happy relationship and to providing support for what has become a major annual arts and entertainment initiative,” said Liz Dziva, MultiChoice Zimbabwe publicity and public relations manager.

The main focus of the festival is to celebrate women who have achieved milestones in the film industry. And also to set to promote the visibility of film and television productions created in Southern Africa, including Zimbabwe.

The theme for this year’s festival is Women Alive: Women of Heart. It was set to assist IIFF focus on telling stories of women in a positive manner.

About 56 films will be screened during the course of the festival, nine of which were sourced from Zimbabwean filmmakers including Wizzy Mangoma and Dorothy Meck.

So if you are a film fanatic, prepare a bag of popcorn and brace yourself for a week of cinematic experience free of charge.
