Multi-award winning musician, Jah Prayzah, has collaborated with one of the current hotshots on the African continent, Tanzanian star, Diamond Platnumz.

The two have worked on a song called ‘Watora Mari’ and the track will be on Jah Prayzah’s seventh album titled ‘Mudhara Achauya’, which will be launched on August 12 at the HICC.

This information was just announced at a press briefing held this morning at Jah Prayzah’s offices.

“I chose to collaborate with Diamond Platnumz because he is one artist I revere in the African continent. He is doing very well in his home country and on the global stage. I believe I can learn a lot from him,” said Jah Prayzah.

“We recorded the track in Tanzania on Tuesday and we are hoping that the fans will enjoy it. If all goes well, we will be dropping a video for the track.”

Revealing more about the new album Jah was quick to dismiss rumors that the title ‘Mudhara Vachauya’ was in any way a statement to make other artists know that he is ruling the roost.

“You will all know the meaning of the album title once you listen to the album. However, let me hasten to say that this title has nothing to do with me making a statement to other artists, but I’m simply being artistic.

“I am also not countering Winky D’s track ‘Awuya Wuya’ (in which he sings dhanzi rakufaya mudhara awuya…). Winky D and I do a lot of gigs together and we have a very good working and social relationship.

“One thing to note though, is that on this album I have stepped out of my comfort zone and done some tracks in a new way to broaden my reach and give my fans variety.

“With the past albums, people would always complain that I am very predictable but this time we have brewed something different. But, most of the songs still carry the JP groove that my fans have grown to love,” added Jah.

Jah Prayzah’s manager, Keen Mushapaidze took time to thank the various companies that are backing their album launch.

“On behalf of brand JP I want to thank all the companies that are working with us this year as we could not have done it without them especially in this tough economy where the arts are gradually being sidelined as not many see the value they play in society,” said Mushapaidze.

“We are still open to those who want to purchase tables for ten on the day and these will come with some exclusive packages.

“Every time we embark on a project we say we want to make it bigger and better and that is what we are doing with our launch as we will not only have it in Harare but will also celebrate with our fans in Bulawayo.

“So soon after the launch on August 12 in the capital we will dash to Bulawayo and party with our fans at the Queens Sports Club,” he revealed.
