Resuming their combined show dubbed ‘Kumabhebhi’ which was last held when the Book Cafe was still operational, Cindy and Clare staged top-shelf performances at the new cool joint in town, Fortress88 on Thursday evening.

It was a show with a difference as the artists took questions from the audience during their performance, letting the patrons into their musical lives and unraveling the deeper meaning of their songs.

The ambiance in the space was super cosy and couples could be seen cuddling and giggling as they were being serenaded by the musicians who were dropping some cool jams in an acoustic setting.

In between the acts, the guests were kept entertained by the hilarious Comic Pastor, who touched on the various political, religious and economic issues that are topical in the country.

This was the first time the newly opened joint was hosting the acoustic night mixed up with comedy and this is set to happen every Thursday of the week.

“We want to offer our patrons top quality entertainment in this place targeting the mature folks,” said organiser of the shows at Fortress88, Raldane Mhike.

“This was our first time trying this concept and the response was pretty good and we will be continuing with these sessions with different artists but maintaining the high standards of delivery.

“Another new concept we will be introducing starting this Saturday will be the weekend soccer matches.

“We know that people love watching soccer and with the Barclays premier league starting soon we have installed some big screens to accommodate those who want to watch games in a refreshing environment.

“We will gradually be unveiling the new concepts as we progress,” he added.
