“I feature Alick Macheso on a track titled ‘Maria na Marita’. It’s a song that talks about the story of Lazarus. In the song Macheso represents God and I am more of the narrator, my former manager, Sir Benjamin is coming on the track as a chanter.

“I also roped in jazz vocalist, Prudence Katomeni Mbofana, on a track titled ‘Mama My Hero’ which is a dedication to all the mothers in the world,” he added.

The singer has been off the radar for a while since his group, African Joy recorded its first project, a live DVD back in 2014.

On where he has been hiding, Magacha said, “I have not been hiding. It is my culture to drop an album after three years. However, this time I have been focusing on school.

“For one and a half years I was enrolled with the Institute of Edmonton Canada, studying marketing to help me have better strategies to market and manage my projects.

“The other half was filled with tours in Europe and Africa – meanwhile, preparing for this new album.”

The ‘Bhosvo’ hit maker shared with us the meaning of the album title and the inspiration behind the 15 track offering.

“This album is called ‘Wonenrerwai Jesu’ because God ought to shine in the midst of the trial and tribulations that we face to reverse the devils plans to destroy us and by so doing, shame him.

“The basic ethos of the album is to bring hope to whoever listens to it and above all win more souls to Christ.

“I must say it is an album for everyone as it has a number of genres from dancehall, house, and even museve,” highlighted Magacha.

The album is set to be launched with a concert.

“There will definitely be a lunch, we are planning towards that. However, our focus is on making sure that the album is available to all our fans in and outside Zimbabwe.

“We will have the album available on various online platforms and we are working around the clock, duplicating CD’s to be sold for just a $1 at various points in the country, “he revealed.

Magacha has also engaged Vusa Blaqs to work on an exquisite video to be released on the day of the album launch.

“We have engaged Blaqs to do our videos, and I must tell fans to look out for something extraordinary. For now we are working on just one video, but there will be a DVD album for all tracks on the album that will be released later in the year,” said Magacha.
