In preparation for the forthcoming Miss World Zimbabwe 2017 pageant, which is to be held at Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club on 22 July, a sashing ceremony for the sixteen national finalists was recently held at the Miss Zimbabwe Trust head office in the presence of their families and close friends.
“The boot camp which commenced on July 3 at a local hotel is not a free holiday for the girls who have a line-up of activities in preparation for the final day,” said the trust spoke person Tendai Chirau.
Following their daily routine of exercising and doing their choreography the contestants were taken to Eldorado Game Park in Macheke on Saturday 15 July for a game drive and photo shoot.
Game Park owner, Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Zimbabwe, His Excellency Kamal L. Khalfan, who has previously sat on the Miss Zimbabwe judging panel, hosted the delegates with a hearty lunch and a game drive.
Early Sunday morning they hit the road to Doma village where they still are experiencing the lifestyle of the villagers and learning about the Zimbabwean culture particularly from that area.
This year’s theme of the event is Celebrating beauty through the eyes of our late icon Kiki Divaris.
