The group impressed with a snip unplugged performance of a song from their forthcoming “Luyando” album at Muffathalle, Munich in Germany over the weekend. In a video shared by the band, the French-based Senegalese music maestro could not hide his excitement over Mokoomba’s scintillating vocal prowess.

The European tour started with concerts in Germany and Austria and will see them perform in Austria, the Netherlands, UK and Belgium over the next 7 weeks. This comes on the heels of their successful North American tour which took them to the historic Apollo Theatre in New York earlier this year.

Marcus Gora, the band manager, expressed his satisfaction with the excursion so far saying, “It has been amazing. People love the energy that the band brings and the quality of the concert from Mathias Muzaza’s golden voice to the tight musicianship and choreography.”

Hailing from the Victoria Falls, Mokoomba is one of Africa’s most exciting young bands because of their vibrant, distinct sound which combines their traditional Tonga and pan -African music cultures with dashes of Rap, Ska, Soukous and Afro-Cuban music.

Their star has continued to rise since winning the Music Crossroads Inter-regional Festival Competition in Malawi in 2008. To date Mokoomba has toured more than 50 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania receiving critical recognition for their recordings and numerous accolades.
