This is a record for pop music in the country as it becomes the first local video to get so many views in a short space of time in the genre.

Though the script and video quality could have been polished a bit more, many who have watched it have praised the two artists who collaborated to make such a fine piece of work, Ammara Brown and Tytan.

However, in the midst of the hype, there has been debate on who penned ‘Mukoko’.

Some have said it’s Tytan featuring Ammara whilst others say its vice versa.

Zimbo Jam got in touch with Ammara Brown and she spoke on the matter saying, “Mukoko is a duet. That means no one is featured. Tytan is a brilliant songwriter. The song is on my album (Ammartia) and will be on his as well.”

On whether they will be collaborating on another single she said, “After Mukoko maybe we will work together as song writers because that is where our true synergy lies.”

Speaking on what the stats mean to her she said, “Looking at the stats on my YouTube page, it’s showing me that the viewers are all over the world. There are so many people who can’t even speak our languages loving this song right now

“I believe it’s one international foot in the door in terms of rebranding Zimbabwe. Also it is so refreshing to see Zimbabweans of all tribes, young and old flying the flag with our names on it. Its overwhelming.”

Ammara also spoke about her upcoming works saying, “I will be releasing  a song called ‘Next Lifetime’ featuring Hugh Masekela.

“Its Mbira based with Afro-RnB and set to be a classic, another sound I believe will put Zimbabwe on the map. So looking forward to shooting the video as well.
