A group of young Zim Hip Hop artists  has come together to release a mixtape that explains, through song, the life of young men growing up in the avenues and the ghettos of Africa. Their stories primarily focus on Harare but they cross the border and visit one of Africa's most dangerous townships, Soweto, in neighbouring South Africa.

The group is called Crook Ave and they say their release is going to cause some serious controversy.

From Dusk Til' DawnInitially, the mixtape, titled From Dusk Til Dawn', explores the crooked mentalities, fantasies, exposures, hunger and desire of a generation that wants to get rich quick (the dark, Dusk side of the world).

Half way through their lives, maturity and emptiness kick in and they come to a realisation that real life consists of more than what they are exposed to, so they start to seek for light, love, wisdom, realness, success and God.

As they begin to grow (mentally and spiritually), they start to lighten up and at the same time they realize their purpose (the brighter, Dawn side of the world) and the mixtape ends with them making a 'Grand Entrance' into the Hip-Hop scene.

This compilation addresses issues like struggle, pain, hurt, hate, deception, love, determination, ambition and success.

Crook Ave consists of Rayze'Em, Tresspasser, 3Mics, and Killah Bishop. Rayze'Em is currently based in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, while Tresspasser, 3Mics, and Killah Biship are currently in Zimbabwe running a Hip-Hop battle and performance event called The Circle.

Affiliate emcees are Tino Uneeq, who's contributions include closing the mixtape with his song 'Grand Entrance', and Micah, who's features include 'Take You There' and 'Let It Rain'.

Videos like 'Rayze'Em's 'Krooksta' and 'More Again' have been growing in popularity online while singles 'Take You There' and 'Let It Rain' are currently being prepared for release to radio stations around the world.

Producers of the mixtape, POA Records, has changed it's website design to a theme they call 'It's Darkest Before Dawn' to celebrate the upcoming release and has so-far released two official trailers for the mixtape, Here To Stay' and Let It Rain.
