"It Wasn't Me" hit maker Shaggy is expected to stage a one-off show in Zimbabwe this week. The United States-based musician is slated to perform at the Harare International Conference Centre on Friday alongside South African wheel spinner and Channel O's hot property DJ Waxxy, supported by a host of local musicians.
It would be Shaggy's first time to perform in the country and the tickets are going for a whooping $25 per head.
Show organisers Stikmusic International said they had tagged a high price on the show to cover for the enormous cost of bringing the artist into the country. They said the musician would bring a 20-member group for a rare live band performance on Friday May 22 (2009).
"People have been complaining that the entrance fee is too high but we do not have an option since Shaggy is bringing his whole band. The travelling and upkeep cost plus their performance fee require a huge budget. The $25 is the only justifiable price we can charge," said Stikmusic spokesperson Clive 'Bobby' Mutyasira.

He said the musician would arrive in the country on the day of the show and leave the following day.
Local musicians to support the Shaggy include Urban Grooves bad boy Roki, Urban Grooves poster child Alexio and dancehall man of the moment Winky D.
Shaggy is on a tour of Southern Africa that would see him perform in Botswana on May 21 and South Africa on May 24.
Born Orville Richard Burrell on October 22, 1968, in Kingston, Jamaica, Shaggy was nicknamed after a Scooby-Doo character- a dog- with that name.
Some of his popular hits include It Wasn't Me, Angel and Mr Boombastic.
