Her clients simply call her 'Helen'. Surnames don't matter when you're so good at what you do that you own the first name like a brand. It's like saying 'Steve' at an Apple Macintosh convention; no surname needed, everyone knows who you're talking about. And talking about jobs, Helen does hers really, really well...

Helen makes cakes, the sort you see on those fancy TV shows; cakes that look like houses, but tast like heaven. Cakes that look like cars, tennis rackets, shoes, books, houses... you name it she can do it.

Pothole Mayhem

Workers from the Harare City Council fill potholes along Josiah Tongogara Avenue in the Avenues area recently. The city roads are currently beseiged with numerous potholes which are popping up everywhere thanks to the heavy rains we continue to have, but more so due to the old road network that is in need of total resurfacing. Pothole filling is a stop gap measure at best.

Workmen from the City of Harare Department of Works repair yet another burst pipe, this one in Julius Nyerere Way in the CBD. It is estimated that 40% of Harare's treated water is lost due to burst pipes, adding another dimension to the city's many water woes.
