One of those.
Finally, Zimbo Jam will today end this national headache. After extensive research we at last have the answer to the question, “Can Carl Joshua Ncube make Thembe Sachikonye laugh?”
There is a missing piece to the puzzle which could have seen this question answered a long time ago, but what fun would that be?
So here are the summations of our research. Click on the tabs below one by one to follow the story. The results will surprise you…
So Carl and Thembe bumped into each other at the Rainbow Towers Food Fair on Saturday, August 4, 2012 (Carl, by the way won the Food Fair cookout and got himself a trip to the Victoria Falls). Carl, being the every-day comedian that he is, decides that he is going to make Thembe laugh and see if he can put an end to this silly question that everyone has been asking. We'll add a disclaimer here and say that maybe some of the words they said are not exactly as we remember them. So don't sue us. But here's the jist of how it went down... Carl starts tuning his funniest gwans to Thembe, but the chick, as you can see in our pictoria evidence above, is not impressed. Carl pulls out everything in his bag of tricks- but nothing ekse. Not even a twitch of a muscle at the corner of her mouth. Thembe is thinking, "This dude is so not funny. How do I get away from this?" Carl scratches his head (no word of lie, refer once again to pictorial evidence) and even does a 'why did the chicken cross the road' joke. It is the comedian's worst nightmare... an unmoved audience. Carl is thinking..."Eish. Wastak pano." Then Carl starts thinking, in slow motion, of all the hard work he has put in to become one of Zimbabwe's top standup comedians. He thinks of the hours in the gym, the long marathons and the midnight workouts and a spark of inspiration lights him up. The words start flowing. All of a sudden he's Mr Smooth. Thembe smiles. Thinks, "Hey, he's not that bad after all..." That's all the fuel that Carl needs he starts using his body to demonstrate what he is saying and drops the punchline of his life. The results, as you can see for youself above, are astounding. Thembe laughs. So we can conlude therefore, that Carl Joshua Ncube can make Thembe Sachikonye laugh. _ Both Carl and Thembe are movers and shakers that we respect at Zimbo Jam. When Thembe is not laughing she writes a weekly column called Local Drummer in NewsDay, among many other exploits. Check out the column's Facebook page here. She's @localdrummer on twitter. Carl, when he's not trying to make Thembe laugh, makes a living making other people laugh. Check out his website here and his Facebook page here. On Twitter he's @carlncube.Meeting
