Famous South African photographic training school, Market Photo Workshop, is bringing a collection of 24 photographs to be part of the 2012 edition of the Gwanza photographic exhibition.

Gwanza opens on August 10 at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare and will feature work from around Africa. The theme this year is 'Identity' and it is curated by Calvin Dondo.

Meanwhile, five young South African photographers were expected in the country today for the second of a three-part masterclass series which they are taking part in with seven Zimbabwean colleagues. The first part was conducted in Johannesburg in April 2012 and the final one will be in March 2013 in Joburg again.

This leg of the masterclass is being taken by Calvin Dondo and Tsvangirai Mukwazhi.

In the picture above is Bandile Gumbi, Projects & Programmes Manager for Market Photo Workshop, who arrived in Zimbabwe ahead of the photographers to sort out the South African exhibition.

Numerous Zimbabwean photojournalists and photographers have been trained at Market Photo Workshop.
