Zimbo Jam was in Nairobi last week and we were amazed and impressed by all the construction that's taking place in and around the city. New roads, new buildings, new highways. There's construction happening everywhere one looks. At Jomo Kenyata International Airport is a hugeoungous new terminal with multi-level parking being built. Sign of an economy moving forward.
Zimbo Jam is in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan this week, attending the 7th Internet Governance Forum. About ten years ago Baku was an unglamorous city, full of old buildings from an era gone by. Now, due to oil money, the city's skyline is a wonder to behold and futuristic architecture is creating global landmarks that are the envy of modern cities everywhere.
The giant Expo Centre in the Azerbaijan capital, Baku, is the venue for the 7th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) which ends today, November 9, 2012. Zimbo Jam is in Baku and has been meeting with representatives from Facebook, Google and Microsoft among others.
