Avondale Shopping Centre in Harare is one of the most popular hangouts among young people in the city. Its coffee shops such as Cafe Nush and Freshly Ground and fast food outlets such as Nandos and St Elmos are popular with business people and families alike. Surrounding restaurants include Sopranos, 40 Cork Road and Espresso. These all have a high patronage. You can get more info about these on www.eatout.co.zw.
Until recently the centre boasted three theatres; Elite 100, Vistarama and 7 Arts. The former two were closed last year and turned into shops. The remaining theatre, 7 Arts, has stopped showing movies on a regular basis and is now mostly used for musical shows, pageants and other entertainment.
There has been talk that it too may be shut down soon.
The centre also has three supermarkets, TM, Bon Marche and Spar Express. Other shops include Faithwear (Zimbabwean clothing label), Dancelive Electronics (Home appliances- You need to check out their flat screen TVs!), Techtools (an Apple computers & accessories shop), Total Health Zone (gym and health club), Barclays Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, three pharmacies, bookshops, a home decor shop, an Econet Shop and one of Harare's biggest flea markets.

Things change so fast around here that we can't tell you what format it will take on next. All you need to know is that Jam Pix liases with the photographers who supply us with images and makes sure they get shared with the world.
