Tuku and wife celebrate his Honorary degree from the Women's University in Africa

Tuku and wife celebrate his Honorary degree from the Women's University in Africa. He was presented with a MA Degree in Fine Arts for his tireless dedication to the music industry and the impact of his work on the community (30 October 2009).

Also presented with honorary degrees were Mrs Betty Flora Mtero and Kiki Divaris. Mrs Mtero, who was honoured for her tireless service to the community, was not present and was represented by her children who include Kundai Mtero of the singing group African Voices (right).

 

Kiki Divaris gets degree

^ Kiki Divaris is presented with her degree certificate by Guest of Honour at the graduation ceremony, Dr Olivia Nyembezi Muchena who is the Minister of Women's Affairs, Gender & Community Development.

The presentations of honorary degrees was part of the fifth graduation ceremony of the Women's University in Africa held at Zimbabwe Gardens in Chisipite. The Vice Chancellor of the university is Dr. Hope Sadza.

How ironic to have worked so closely with both Tuku and Kiki in entirely
different forums in Zimbabwe for over two decades .. Tuku in the field of music
and Kiki in the realms of Child Protetction. Wonderful they finally receive the
accolades they have truly earned and only sorry I am can't share it with them!
