BET Awards, Saturday June 28 2009. The script for the awards had to be rewritten last minute after Michael Jackson's death to make him and his contribution to showbiz the centre of attention for the evening. The awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and had to be extended by 30 minutes to accommodate Jackson tributes.

Jamie Foxx does the moonwalk- and almost trips, Beyonce, in an angelic outfit sings Ave Maria. Jay Z was there doing his thing too. The BET Awards became the official Michael Jackson TV commemoration as various artists paid tribute to the King of Pop.
