“This is a one woman show and it is hard work,” said Sue.

“Every other part I have played has been with other actors on the stage so I have had people opposite whom to play and from whom I had cue lines and so on.“In this production I am all on my own. It is a huge challenge and it has stretched my acting abilities which can only be a good thing. I love the character and I love the play.”

The play will run concurrently with another production at the same venue, ‘The Lion King’.

When asked why they chose to run the shows concurrently, Bolt who is also manager at Reps responded, “As this is a solo performance, it is being staged in Theatre Upstairs, our small, intimate venue (seats 54 people so book soon!). It is a completely different genre to The Lion King on main stage so it doesn’t compete.

“At Reps we like to be able to offer different genres of entertainment and we have the talent to allow us to put on musicals, straight plays, farces, and dance shows amongst many other things.”

Bolt also expressed her gratitude to Samuel French Limited who assisted in getting performance rights for the play.

“Reps is very lucky to have been able to obtain the performing rights, which is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, LTD.”

‘My Brilliant Divorce’ was written by Geraldine Aron. The story revolves around Angela, a middle aged woman who finds herself alone when her husband leaves her for a younger woman. It tells of how she moves on with her life in a delightfully written play which is funny, sad, ridiculous and very entertaining.
