The Arts Gathering takes place on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th. It is a festival of the arts, bringing together performances in theatre, poetry, comedy and music along with fashion shows and workshops in various areas.

Zimbabwe’s largest arts initiative, Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) has this year announced that the organization will not stage the event in 2019 and will focus on new projects leading up to a major anniversary Festival in 2020.
In 2013, Sylent was amongst the many talented acts that performed regularly at the then hub of arts, Book Cafe in Harare, alongside the likes of Gary Tight, Blessing Chimanga and Mbeu who was then still in the Afrofusion group, Tsvete.

Thursday evening, DAY 3 of the biggest arts phenomenon in Zimbabwe, the Harare Festival of The Arts (HIFA) was a make or break moment for the organisers who were battling with the gods to stop the rains from falling which had dampened the mood of the festival from Day1.

HIFA is not complete without its annual Cabs Opera Gala. This year, they did not disappoint. This year The Zimspiration choir, trained by Kundisai Mtero, and members of the chamber music ensemble Baroque2000 were amongst those performing.
