Many of us will recall the stereotypical espionage thrillers filled with car chases, explosions, fight scenes, exotic locations and scantily-clad sidekicks (mostly a girlfriend or just a female accomplice to the hero). Spy takes these ingredients to make a shaken AND stirred martini mixture of a movie that playfully sends up the spy movie genre with tongue deliciously in cheek.

With Jason Statham on the poster of a movie, you rarely expect the movie to suck. This one sucked a great deal. It was painful to sit through the whole movie but it had to be done in the hope that we were going to reach the climax of the movie. The climax never came.
