“First things first, a big thanks to NAMA for nominating me. It was a nice experience and congrats to the winner Mandla,” said Tinaye to the Zimbo Jam.

“Not winning was a hard pill to swallow for me. I went home and I cried because I thought I deserved it considering the hard work that I had put in the whole of last year.

“Luckily I’m surrounded by some great minds like Carl Joshua Ncube who said to me while the award is a good thing but winning it won’t make you funnier but writing good jokes.

“So that’s what I have been doing with help of great minds surrounding me,” he revealed.

Tinaye added that he went through the heartache quicker due to the support system he had.

“I went through the valley moment quicker and have to now come back stronger, that’s what winners do. We are too legit to quit. It actually fueled me, I’m working harder now than I have ever did before. You should see me now.

“Someday I’m going to win the NAMA Outstanding Comedian award and Outstanding Actor too,” added Tinaye.

Meanwhile, Tinaye will be amongst comedians performing tomorrow, Thursday April 26 at Alliance Francaise, marking the return of Simuka Comedy.

“The best comedy show, Simuka is back,” highlighted Tinaye. “People should   expect a show filled with laughter from   the first minute to the last.”
