It’s not your usual afro fusion sound from Gary Tight nor is it that groovy hip hop vibe from Tehn Diamond.
If it were placing the track in a category at the ZIMA’s, it would most likely be in the alternative music range, however getting that gong would not be a guarantee.
The title of the latest Gary Tight track which he features rapper, Tehn Diamond is ‘iNgirozi’.
When it was announced that the two were collaborating there was a lot of expectation from fans, but when you then listen to the final product it sounds as if it was rushed.
Gary being a musician, he could have easily picked that the track was lacking a solid foundation as the groove tends to meander all over the place.
The song lacks that rich artistry Gary usually exudes in his projects.
Though one might argue they were experimenting on a new sound, still under such circumstances they could have done better.
As the track unfolds, and you still want to comprehend all the elements about it, suddenly Tehn Diamond comes through with his punch lines.
It sounds as if the rapper’s vocals were just randomly pasted in the track as there is no coherence whatsoever.
On the contrary, Gary sounded chuffed about his offering.
“I have always wanted to work with Tehn from a young age, before i started recording. So when l thought of a pop and trap fusion track, Tehn came to my mind,” explained Gary on why he chose to collaborate with Tehn Diamond.
The ‘Tight Party’ singer also revealed that a video for the track will be dropping soon as well as his debut album.
“After this single there won’t be anymore singles coming this year as I will be focusing on my album set to be released end of July.”
